Public electricity supply means the provision of a public service of electricity supply of a prescribed or contractually agreed quality at reasonable, easily and clearly comparable, public and transparent prices to final consumers of electricity in the household category, small customers and final consumers of electricity of particular social importance.
Within the framework of the obligation to provide a public service, the electricity companies on which this obligation is imposed in accordance with the applicable regulations of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are obliged to provide a public service of electricity supply under the conditions prescribed by the Law on Electricity in their area of activity and in accordance with the Electricity Policy of the Federation.
JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. – Sarajevo, as the holder of a license for the supply of electricity – first order license, is entitled and obliged, in accordance with the status and obligations assigned by the Decision of the Government of the Federation of BiH on the designation of the public/universal service provider and the reserve supplier, to perform the activity of supplying electricity within the public service system to all end customers who are entitled to it.
The delivery of electricity under the Public Service Electricity System shall be at the electricity rates proposed by the electric company authorized to provide Public Service Electricity System service and approved by the FERC.
The relationship between the public utility and the final customer, who has the right to purchase electricity under the public utility system, is governed by the electricity supply contract.
