Market supply

JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. – Sarajevo, as the holder of the License for conducting the activity of supply and trade of electric energy, is authorized to conduct the supply to end customers and trade of electric energy on the wholesale market.

In accordance with the Law on Electric Energy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), end customers of electric energy have the right to freely choose their electricity supplier, and the rights and obligations between the supplier and the end customer of electric energy are regulated by a supply agreement for end customers. Market activities are carried out in accordance with the principles of market competition and equal treatment of all market participants, where quantities and prices of delivered electric energy are freely negotiated and/or contracted.

Exceptionally, due to disruptions in supply including extreme price increases and insufficient supply of electric energy or the occurrence of other extraordinary circumstances that jeopardize the security of supply, in accordance with the Law on Electric Energy of the FBiH, the Government of the FBiH may declare a state of endangered security of supply. In a state of endangered security of supply, the Government of the FBiH may, among other measures, prescribe the manner and conditions for the formation and control of prices.
