The Electricity Act defines the backup electricity supply as a public electricity supply service for end customers who are left without an electricity supplier under certain conditions specified in the Electricity Act.
A backup electricity supplier is a supplier who has the obligation to supply electricity to the end customer, who is not entitled to a public supply service, for a maximum period of 90 days if the chosen supplier ceases to supply electricity to them in the event of:
JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. – Sarajevo, as the holder of an electricity supply license – Order I, is entitled and obliged to provide the service of backup supply of electricity to end customers who are not entitled to the public electricity supply service, in accordance with the status and obligations assigned by the Decision of the Government of FBiH on the designation of the public/universal service provider and the reserve supplier.
The supply of electricity under the backup supply service is carried out on the basis of a backup supply contract concluded between the end customer exercising the right to backup supply and the backup supplier within 8 days from the day of the backup supply at the latest.
The price of electricity for backup supply is determined on the basis of the Rulebook issued by the Regulatory Commission for Energy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FERC), which is proposed by the public supplier and approved by the FERC.
